Program Information
Carroll Care Center has a total of four primary programs, which encompass other direct and indirect services:
A Youth Boxing program
is designated in a high gang activity area. Our program addresses the
issues of gang activity in the East Garfield community, which
correlates directly with the increase of homicide in this community.
Our objective with the Youth Boxing program is prevention and to reduce
the participation of juveniles in the activities of gangs. We counter
the negative activities that have become the “normal” for our children
with positive activities to bring about a “new normal”, positive
conflict resolution. This program provides proactive services that
will counteract the influences of street life, which ultimately leads
to criminal activity.
An Ex-offender program,
cover areas of financial literacy, onsite registration for job
trainings programs, legal aide, onsite job search, transportation
assistance for verified job interviews and local support service agencies. Our intent is to create a mindset that will develop long-term solutions to issues surrounding ex-offenders workforce development and economic stability. Participants have the opportunity to participate on site in our
FDIC Money Smart program, registration for GED placement and classes,
Machinist Training program, assistance with a self-directed job search. Additionally, we offer participant free health screening from diabetics to HIV testing.
Open Community Lab, we
are designed for youth in after school programs to explore careers in
technology by offering open lab access in our community center. We provide social service referrals, and job readiness skills training for adults and teenagers.
Recreational program, offers Movie Teen Night, Youth Praise and Hip Hop Dance Classes, Entrepreneurial and Non-Violence workshops. We are also proud partners with the Humane Society of the United States to end pit-bull fighting in our community.
